Mr. Commons: With the defection of the two favorites, Premier Pegasus and Jaycito, this race becomes a wide open dash. You have a couple of B grade horses, Silver Medallion and Anthony's Cross, both capable of taking down the graded earnings. But I'm going to go with what I feel is the most talented colt in the field. The John Sherriffs trained Mr. Commons. He's coming off of a workman like Allowance win going a mile, but he was close to the pace and I think it negated his kick a little. I see Mike Smith taking him further off a contested pace and making a big move on the turn. Whether he's got the experience or not, to win, I don't know, but I think he's got the talent.
