Belmont Picks and analysis

Hey Kid fans,
Despite the lack of a Derby or Preakness winner in this years Belmont the race has come up as an impressive play for the everyday raceplayer. Few of the twelve horses heading for the starting gate can be tossed unequivocally from the race and has this gambler licking his chops at the types of opportunities abounding.
The lightly raced and talented Sun River is sure to take his share of the money, but with a win over the track in the Peter Pan and super hot Jock Bejarano aboard this colt is an excellent key on top. He's bred to go this far and Pletcher is looking big time to get his Triple Crown maiden broken.
Pletcher other entry, derby runner up Bluegrass Cat is freshened and ready to roll, but this colts on again off again race record is hard to ignore. My best reasoning suggests he's more of a play in the unders.
Jazil and Steppenwolfer are coming off big time races in the derby (4th and 3rd respectively). Jazil the little son of Seeking the Gold us doing well leading up to the race, but he missed a scheduled work last week and in coming into this race with no works in the last 10 days, whether he's fit enough is anybodies guess, but he should be flashing at the leaders late in the game. Steppenwolfer is known as more of grinder type of colt, but he work 6f in 1:10 and change just 7 days ago and this time of years 3yo's are improving by leaps and bounds. If he's closer then 4 or 5 lengths midway around the far turn he could get the job done.
West Point thoroughbred's High Finance is looking to send the partnership into the stratosphere with a front running score in the race. He's coming off two good wins in New York and with little true speed in the race he's a danger on the lead.
Deputy Glitter's in coming into the Belmont off of a disappointing effort in the Derby and it hard to imagine after this colt's last two that much improvement is to be expected, but his trainer is red hot right now having sent out the Preakness winner Bernardini last out and that combined with perennial leading New York and this years Derby winning Jock Edgar Prado, this colt may have a shot.
Bob Baffert is opting to run Wood winner Bob and John in this spot and keeping Point Determined in cali for the Affirmed, Swaps double. This is a strong one paced kind of colt and if he gets the distance he's got the talent to best this field.

Kid's Picks

2 Sun River
8 Jazil
11 Steppenwolfer
4 Bob and John
