Hollywood Park Picks 7/7/07

Holly:

Race 1: Temecula Creek-Frankel sends out this entry and gets Bejarano on board. Numbers look competative in this group, should get a good trip and the pace to run at.

Race 2: Tiz A Fire- Talamo should have this entry in a good spot with tactical speed from the outside and Jones has had a positive meet at Hollywood this summer. Looks good at 5/1 ML

Race 3: Nashoba's Key- I hate races like this, 4 horse field and the favorite looks like she should be 7/5. Improving runner with possible sights set on bigger fall races.

Race 4: Gentle Romeo- first time starter for sheriffs, gets Migliore aboard. A note on this race: its very very wide open.

Race 5: Jitterbug Ball- can't get around this horse in here, get your dancing shoes on.

Race 6: Inclusive-Jock/trainer are hitting at over 20% together. This colt walked out of the gate in his first start and still only got beat 4 lengths.

Race 7: Kneeling Pride-Lobo has been on fire this summmer and he goes to a rider thats been getting price horses to the winner's circle.

Race 8: Kendargent- Canani horse making US debut, I suspect the word is out and this horse will be bet six feet under.

Race 9: Silent Name- synthetic track freak

Race 10: Valbenny- this filly has blossomed since coming states side and has a couple of nice wins over the track, should love the 10f.

Race 11: Numismatist- horse ran great last out and should improve with the O'Neill second out program.

Hollywood Picks 7/6/07

Holly:

Race 1: Olympic Miler-coming off of a freshing and looks to be the speed in this contest. Gets gate rider Martin Pedroza and Sadler has been going great guns of late.

Race 2: Warren's Dream-how about this first time starter in an average type of field, good win early pedigree by Lake George out of an Avenue of Flags mare. Patient rider Valdivia takes the call.

Race 3: Passified- Can't get around the favoite in here, looks like the speed.

Race 4: A Dubai- Nakatani rarely riders for Beccera so I find it intriguing that he shows up on this firster for him. LIke the Pedigree going 6.5 furlongs- E Dubai out of a Sham mare.

Race 5: Alexandra Rose-I can't possibly take Price Tag at well...the price, though I think she can be tough in this field. My Pick the south african filly has run some decent races and is a powerfully built filly, should be rolling late.

Race 6: Johnny Eves-won't get the 8-1 morning line but I like this one.

Race 7: Somethingaboutlaura- taking a shot here against the deserving favorite, but I think that this entry has the tactical advantage and has the talent to win against these types.

Race 8: Smudgeledo- hoping this horse can shake loose and takes these to the wire. Gets Talamo aboard, the #8 is going to take alot of money, should get a good price.

Race 9: Handsome Michael K- I think foley is sitting on his second winner of the meet with this one.

Philly Park Picks 7/3/07

Philly:

Race 1: Party with Paris-hate the name but this horse looks like tops in here with the recent races.

Race 2: Lady Cassandra-this is not the best group of horses here, but this filly ran a creditable race against the favorite in her last start and pennington stays on board.

Race 3: Bombed Again-this horse is coming in out of md 25k claiming and has a nice 48.2 work in his most recent looks tough at 8-5.

Race 4: Pull My Chain-this horse comes in from charles town and has been in the money each of he last 5 races including a win and a loss at this level by a nose. Like this horse here.

Race 5: Badagain- nice work tab here for this 2yo son of Pine Bluff, looks tough in this race.

Race 6: Adorable Jane- with 4 straight second place finishes its hard to pull the trigger on this filly at the price, but it looks like she's found her friends this time out.

Race 7: Alks Boy- Gurrero has this gelding in great form and has been spacing his races very well, look for the three wins in a row to become 4.

Race 8: Tazaliya-been running against much better and should have a favorable pace to run into.

Race 9: Johnny Spreadsheet-comes in from Monmouth off of a good third against similar. A note on this race; if the 11 gets in he could be very tough.

Race 10: Azulyekit- this horse ran a credible race last out against a tough customer at Delaware Park and has three good recent runs. 10-1 morning line is an attractive price.

Philly/Hollywood ROI's

Hollywood Park Picks 7/2/07

Hollywood:

Race 1: Queen Holly- by the fast horse Yankee Victor, this filly boasts two good works coming into this race and gets the super apprentice Talamo aboard.

Race 2: So Long Sonoma-this filly is a seconditis canidate but has been facing much much better then the others in here.

Race 3: Skipaslew- Sort of sad to see this old class horse in an 8k claimer, but he's taking a huge drop in class for one of the best claiming trainers in the game in Carava. Should win this race.

Race 4: Visayas- there is a ton of speed in this contest and this horse looks to have a big pace advantage. Also has a super 46 and 4 last work on the 24th, seems to signal a horse in good form.

Race 5: Power shift- this horse was wide the whole way in his last race and tired, but if you toss out that performance, he's won 3 of his last 5 with the losses both 2nd place finishes, I expect him to win.

Race 6: Hottest-this filly comes from the Sherman barn and has been working up to this race over at fairplex. Check out the june second drill 6f in 1:13 flat, thats a smoke'en time over there. Will probrably get bet down but should still get a good chunk of that 5-1 morning line.

Race 7: Desire to Excel- the 12-1 morning line on this filly is a joke. She's finished close to 3 nice fillies in her last 3 starts-Sindy with an S, Boca Grande, and Cotton Blossom, all of whom with be odds on in this race. Should get the pace to run at.

Race 8: Reflex-how about this first time starter by Songandaprayer, trainer stats aren't great, but with Pedroza in the irons and a 15-1 morning line, I'll take a shot.

Philly Park Picks 7/2/07

philly:

Race 1: Viracocha-this son of buddha is taking a decent drop in class from the maiden 25k ranks, should get a good stalking trip and Servis has been sending out winners the last few weeks.

Race 2: My Rodeo Gal-this filly was DQed in a similar spot last out going 6f and appears to be lone speed in this spot, could take this all the way at 7-2.

Race 3: Western Illusion-how about this 3rd time starter at 12-1 morning line. The last race maybe a toss out and if the colt can run back to his debut he could win this one.

Race 4: Itsacelebration-has been the beaten favorite in the last three outings, but this filly takes a drop to an all time low and doesn't appear to have much to beat, put it in the bank.

Race 5: Dee's Final Answer-through out the last race and this gelding looks like a stand out, will have to hold off the two horse.

Race 6: Ms. Officer Rocket-this filly has talent and Servis can get it done at first asking AND gets Vega aboard, all that at 6-1 morning line, think we'll get even money?

Race 7: Palistar-taking a bit of a drop in class and may infact be the only horse in the race that actually likes the turf.

Race 8: Anofficerandalady-has been running well at the level and Pennington jumps off the 3 to keep the mount on this horse. Adds up to a solid favorite.

Race 9: Le Plaix- the better of two legit stakes horses in this race, Matz is calling the shots and should the one ready despite the year lay-off.

Race 10: Miss Entertainment- has been running well on the west coast against better and shows up here in the Matz barn. Matz takes the late double.
