Hollywood Park Picks 5/19/07

Hollywood:

Race 1: Little Bertrando-I don't think this horse is too far off the favorites in this race. You get the Mig in the saddle.

Race 2: Ascari-Pedroza is going to have this entry closer then last out and should get a good trip in behind the leaders.

Race 3: Selvatica-Chalk, but the best in the field. Should win this.

Race 4: Sunday Times-I doubt we'll get all of the 6/1 morning line, but this one looks very good in here.

Race 5: Nationhood-this horse looks good in here from a pace stand point and the breeding screams he could love this distance.

Race 6: Heated Rebel-this horse has a big class advantage on this bunch, I'll look for the win.

Race 7: Saucy Officer-this horse looks well meant in here. Check out the win early breeding also.

Race 8: Sir Toasty- How about a 30/1 bomb to spoil the party. This horse fits better then he may look on paper.

Race 9: Silent Soul- this colt carries a big kick and with the speed in this race, it looks like that could come in handy.

Race 10: Ring Dem Bells-Someone get me a dart board! I'll take the Peter Miller Firster on the outside, C. Nak gets the call.

Belmont Pick 5/19/07

Belmont:

Race 1: Megatrend-this horse has a wide post but should have enough tactical speed to get in good position. Asmussen is always tough. By the way if Dutrow beats me with that 1a horse I bet the other day off of one day rest I'm going to throw up.

Race 2: Brogue-looks like this horse is going to sit just off the lead and get the money.

Race 3: Pacific Sun-the entry looks very tough in here. The 1a will set up the pace for the straight one by winging on the lead.

Race 4: Noosa Cat-Win early pedigree on this one and looks to be well meant in this. The connections do very we'll with firsters also.

Race 5: Dontess- Looks to be the best on paper and Coa should give this horse a great ride.

Race 6: Gentle Touch-this horse may have this field over a barrel. Look for Coa to make it back to back wins.

Race 7: Gold and Blue Box-I'm not sure there could be anymore pace in this race to set it up for this one. Take it to the Bank.

Race 8: Sugar Shake-I'm not sure Teamate can stay with tis filly. Should take them all the way.

Race 9: Estimator-this horse looks to fit well on paper, nice price at 15/1 on the morning line.

Hollywood:

Race 1: Moujane- Looks the part on paper, not going to be a great price despite the M/L second choice.

Race 2: Annie Oakleaf-looks like the night is going to get off to a chalky start. The Red-Hot Baze in the saddle with this speedy entry.

Race 3: I'll Prey for you- O'niell sends out this entry, looks like lone speed in here.

Race 4: Looney Boone-Hard to narrow this one down to just one, but will take a shot with Talamo, should be a decent price. Go deep in your pick sixes with this race.

Race 5: Devine by Design-this horse looks the best on paper, should be on the lead early with talamo.

Race 6: Celtic Dreamin-everything about this race sets up for this horse. Just needs the trip.

Belmont:

Race 1: Just Starting-this horse has been running against better and should get a good trip sitting in behind 2 or 3 others in here on the lead.

Race 2: Tatter Tutt- this horse looks to have a pace advantage in here as long as the firsters don't show speed.

Race 3: Holy Nova-should get a nice stalking trip in here and be a nice price with a couple of others taking most of the action.

Race 4: sweetsoutherncharm-looks like the best runner in here, but needs to avoid letting the 1 horse get to far ahead of him.

Race 5: Fiddler's Princess-closely match bunch go in this one. We'll take the Thomas bush entry that looks like a big overlay at 12-1 M/L.

Race 6: Baby Gray- If my wife asks I'll tell her I picked this one because it has the same name as here favorite Perfume. But in reality I think that this horse has a huge shot to win this one.

Race 7: Papua-looks like a ton of pace in here. How about this closer to come and spoil the party up front.

Race 8: Sucessful Affair- I'd love to see one of the old guys in here get it, but the Contessa entry looks very tough.

Race 9: Positive Charge- Horse fits well on paper in this one. Castro is solid this time of year and horse sits at 6/1 on the m/l

race 3: Kris The Red- Harrington wins a bunch of these baby races with horses just like this one.

Race 8: Passthemoneyhoney- always tough at PM.

Race 9: Pretty Little Anna- This race is a mess, I'll take the firster for Essman.

River Downs Picks 5/15/07

River Downs: Back to work day-

Race 1: Forest Jazzy-Not a great looking group of maiden's here, but we'll go with the first time starter. Has good win early pedigree being by Forestry and gets Prescott in the saddle.

Chelokee "unlikely" for Preakness

Bloodhorse is reporting that Chelokee is likely to skip the Preakness in favor of the Barbaro Stakes on the same card.
This is a big blow to player out there who were looking to this new shooter to provide some value over the top three Derby finishers- Street Sense,Hard Spun and Curlin.

Los Alamitos Picks 5/13/07

Los Al:

Race 1: Kern

Race 2: Connie's Miracle

Hollywood Park Picks 5/13/07

Hollywood:

Race 1: Pay the Vig- 6/1 morning line on this horse with Garcia in the saddle? You won't get that, but I'll take what I can get on this one.

Race 2: Capture the Cat-Pedroza is gonna have this one in good position from that outside post. Check out the pedigree for the 6f, Tale of the Cat of a seattle slew mare. Sign me up.

Race 3: Candy Jo-from the post, should sit just off of the 2 and 4 horses and pounce in the lane.

Race 4: The Case Queen- O'Niell sends this one out with Arias about, who my not be a name rider, but he can get them home. Seems like this might be Arias's monthly bonus from a powerful barn.

Race 5: Lady Leftennant-Hess sends out this first time starter by OFFICER-need I say more?

Race 6: Watch Over Me-has the outside speed advantage-should win this, though there are some other class horses in here.

Race 7: OUGHT- as in, ought to win this at a nice price.

Race 8: Silver Swallow-this filly is going to get a nice trip from the rail with the inside post and the pace sets up well for her running style.

Race 9: Unusual Jane- gets the wonder boy talamo up today, should win this.

Belmont Park Picks 5/13/07

After a rough night last night at Los Al where we hand two price horses get beat a nose and two horse disqualified, lets see if we can pick some winners at Big Sandy.

Race 1: Dual Jewels-Hard not to pick this horse dropping in class. Arroyo and Diprima are hitting at 60% together.

Race 2: Inda-maiden fillies here. Macguauhey looks to have this one ready for a big effort.

Race 3: Pulpiteer-The fact that Johnny V. Pikcs up this mount for a trainer his doesn't ride for so alot about its chances.

Race 4: Timirene-expect this son of Bahri to be coming on the scene late. Alan Garcia has provided big dividends of late.

Race 5: Tomorrows Lady-This horse boasts the best numbers for the distance and can take advantage of the hot pace thats sure to develop in here.

Race 6: Heavanly Anna-this filly has the best numbers for the distance and is one of only 4 in here who have even tried it. Coa is always a plus.

Race 7: Square Dancing-horse looks tough on paper in a race that looks to have an abundance of speed.

Race 8: Golden Commander-hate to take 5/2 on such a closely matched group of horses, but you always have to bet the best one.

Race 9: Fancy Fusaichi-Firster by Fu Peg out of a Rahy Mare and Mott is always a plus.
